Have you wanted to experience the thrill and total involvement with fire, longer woodfiring and the traditional Japanese Anagama kiln? This workshop will explore the possibilities of natural clays and slips and the serendipity of natural ash glazing. Participate in an Anagama firing and have the added experience of salting the second chamber. The natural qualities of vapour glazing will harmonise your work with the beautiful environment of Bali and bring you closer to the richness of the earth.

Participate in excursions to see traditional kilns and pottery villages, markets and Balinese life. Be inspired to create new and more sympathetic work that reveals the character of materials and intent of maker.

Learn some of the techniques of making and firing to produce natural glazed works of quality and take home your work and information that will inspire you to new directions in clay.

Work together to harness nature’s strength and beauty in a tropical haven of creativity.
